I own this model, I got it based on a pre-cbs 64 strat that my mentor owns, his tone is a bit "woodier" than this one, but it really has custom shop writen all over it. The tone really captures that 60's soulful tone, thanks to the special custom shop designed pickups! The only thing I disliked was its stiff feel, I remembered his pre cbs as being like butter, nice and lanky, but not overly done to where its just sloppy, I just removed the center spring to the trem block, she plays like butter
