trying out making a video of my 30 gal goldfish aquarium.. i know it is overcrowded right now.. trying to find a new home for the fantails.. hopefully i can keep the orandas and ranchu up to adults... but if anything i'll end up with keeping only two in this size tank..

the tank has been running for about 4 months as of now.. but i have had the ranchu for almost 8 months or so (he/she was a tiny thing then).. and the red cap for about 4 months.. in another tank.. and the red oranda for about a month.. i was just housing the fantails for someone.. but somehow there mine now.. anyway..

this tank was running before and housing tropical fish which are now in my 50 gal display tank in the living room.. but i think the goldfish tank is coming along much better.. i'll post the 50 later..

hope you enjoy.. please comment...

  • hi is the light natural?????????

  • yes the light is "natural sunshine".. the tank has evolved a lot and the water lettuce removed.. the water lettuce grow and spread like duck weed.. but stayed small.. the light was not intense enough for it to grow big.. the anubias is still in the tank and doing good in the tank...

  • i love your fish tank. i was wondering what that big stone thing is, and how to plants hang down...

i dont see a filter or air stone things either..

i recently set up my fish tank and have 4 baby ranchu and 2 baby ryukins... i have a long air stone going and a 70 gallon filter in my 40 gallon tank. it kinda looks like they are struggling to swim because the current might be too strong..

your input would be really appreciated. thanks!

  • @matthewpadrigan1218 - sorry for the delay.. the filter is a hang on whisper 30.. the tube is hiding behind the wood (big stone thing - its cajun wood from my LFS).. the plants are water lettuce.. the fish eventually trimmed down the roots.. i took them out later.. my light wasnt strong enough.. i posted a tank update..

i personally prefer a slower current since fancy goldies are poor swimmers..

  • Nice aquascaping. The fish look happy right now.

  • thanks

  • Howmuch did the ranchu cost? Where did u get it?

  • It's true your tank isn't overcrowded atm but those fish you got get tons bigger, you are right when they get bigger it WILL be overcrowded....nice tank btw, I see you have live plants in there. what kind are those, and do the goldfish eat them or ruin them? I thought it would be good to put live plants in with my 2 orandas, but I heard goldfish tear plants apart. yours don't seem to...what kind of plants are they?thanx

  • how much money a 30 galon tank costs? very nice tank !!!

  • thanks.. i was also thinking when they get bigger.. then most likely.. thanks for the comment..
