  • I am a muslim woman myself and of course I don't think the burka should be totally banned, but I think other muslim women are seriously going too overboard. The burka is NOT mandatory. It is not a religious requirement! Why bring all this unnecessary hardship and discrimination to yourselves? Just wear your normal hijab. Forget the "its my choice" crap. You should first consider if the burka is doing more harm than good. And burkas dont make you closer to god. Its your deeds and your virtue.

  • @xxMia01123 - - I wonder where we would be if every hardship was responded to with a 'Why bring all this unnecessary hardship and discrimination to yourselves?' attitude. Where would the world be if we did not stand in the face of tyrany, oppression and bigotry? I disagree but thanks for sharing Muslim or Not your wrong.

  • @imregrettin Compared to the other forms of hardship in the world, the burka is a completely unnecessary one. If it was the hijab being banned then thats another story. But france allows muslim women to wear the hijab and to practice islam. Why in the world do muslim women want to impose even more on a place that isnt even muslim friendly to begin with. Burka is a custom, not an obligation. It brings unnecessary hardship to women in non muslim countries and i think they need to understand this.

  • @xxMia01123 - Not true and far from intellectual. In fact, this is backwards mentality of a coward. Even if I agree it is just tradition or culture then it is the right of a people to practice that belief as a basic Human Right. Lastly, and i have no intention on bickering this so you get it or you don't, Al Haya' (shyness) is part of faith and faith is strengthened with shyness from ludeness and evils so if someone increases shyness to that extent then they are blessed!

  • Just a small question :

The argument for the burka is that it is their religious freedom / right.

What if someone's religion allowed them to have 4 wives or 10 wives. If the state only accepts one civil partnership and offers welfare to a man with one wife only, then isn't the state discriminating against him or preventing him to exercise his religion to the full ???

  • @ZaneIsSane - No. In islam we are ordered to be fair and just and if we marry more than one then we must be just and if we are unable to be just then marry of them one. In fact, if he cannot provide or sustain then its better he observes fasting and patience. i.e. You don't get married knowing the state will feed your family. So it is a freedom of choice and the state will not pay for your choice just like the state would pay for minimum needs and not vactions /desires etc...

  • I wouldn't really mind them wearing a mask, as long as they were willing to show their face for proper identification. Otherwise, wear what makes you happy.

  • And why do they have woman like Mona representing Muslim woman? She's a disgrace. Being a "moderate" Muslim is the dumbest thing Ive ever heard! Your trying so hard to have these people who hate our religion like you that you've completely forgotten who you are. Trust me people will respect you a lot more for holding true to what you are and speaking honestly about it!

darling, you said that "burkas do not make you close to GOD,its your deeds and virtues that do." but by wearing the burka, you do come closer to God, because IT IS a good deed, even though its not mandatory. the pious women of the Swahaabah used to wear it. so its like fasting every monday and thursday, if you dont, there is no blame on you. but if you do, you get closer to God.

  • “I have a master’s degree in mechanical engineering”- BOOM!!

  • @xxMia01123 , I take my hat off to your message.

  • These two women are dumb, specially Mona dummy. women has a choice in her clothing.

  • The headcover is not obligatory or the burka by Quran, if a female wears it than their is no problem.

  • But the truth is that the word Khimaar simply means a cover, any cover is called Khimaar in Arabic. The derivative word Khamraa, which means intoxicants, is so called because it covers the brain.

  • In 24:31, God is telling the women to use their cover (khimaar, being a dress, a coat, a shawl, a shirt, a blouse, a tie, a scarf . . . etc.) to

  • cover their bosoms, not their heads, face or hair. If God willed to order the women to cover their heads, face or hair, He would have simply said, "Cover your head, face and hair." God is neither vague nor forgetful! God does not run out of words. He does not wait for, nor need a scholar to apply the correct words for Him! God confirms that the Quran is complete and fully detailed (6:114/5).

  • The Arabic word for Chest (Jayb) is in this verse, but the Arabic words for Head (Ra's) or Hair (Sha'r) are NOT. The Commandment in the verse is clear - Cover your chest. .
