  • To clear up some mis-understandings. This video came out in 1984 when they remixed this song w/ me and my wine to sell re-issued copies of high n dry (while riding the wave of Pyromania)All Def Lep DVD's that have come out have the '81 music on the '84 video, that's why it looks the same to some. I took this off of the original "Historia" VHS from 1987. Also for those who think Mutt Lange ruined Def Lep, I think over 16 million copies sold of "Hysteria" might clear up your perception.

  • Oh gawd... this is what ruined this band. KEYBOARDS, gated drums... TOO MUCH PRODUCTION!

The First two records a excellent. I sometime wonder how great Pyromania would have been had Mutt not ruined it. The riffs and songs on Pyromania are top notch... but this version of BotHb shows how adding more doesn't always help.

  • Mutt also produced High 'N Dry

  • The keyboard kind of distracts me from the aspects that made me like the original in the first place.

  • Keyboards make it much better. This is so much better than the original version, in my opinion. It's hard for me to even listen to the original.

  • WORLDS better than the original

  • I actually liked the keyboards in it...

  • The keyboard ruins it. They should have stuck with the classic.

  • I'm not as familiar with this version. I've heard the original many times. Now I know why.

  • @HawgRyder1 I kind of like the hybrid version they do live. I've seen them do the all acoustic and the all electric version...but the hybrid where they do the acoustic first and then the "NO!" part in the full rock mode.

To me the acoustic allows Joe to rest his voice, gets the crowd to interact and sing along...and also show that yes...Def Leppard can actually sing....while some people still think they lip synch

  • @MeatMachineStudios sorry, but DL could sing the phone book, and it would sound good, they are the best thing to come outta England since the BEATLES! I have loved them since I was 6! And I can hear their songs over and over, and they never get old!

  • @HawgRyder1 I AGREE! I this was the ONLY part of the concert that pissed me off! I had been looking forward to seeing them for many years, and my fav song was fucked up! But the rest of the concert was awesome! They sounded great! Pissed tho that the original concert was supposed to be Styx and REO,but since they cancelled that one, when they DID play months later, they replaced THEM with Billy Idol,it was pretty good, bvut STILL have never seen Styx YET!

  • @smokeaphatredbull You gotta remember, a lot of these ppl on here, were NOT EVEN BORN when this was out! I'm 35 and GREW UP listening to DL! Finishing the circle last year, taking my 11 yo to a DL concert, and was I a proud mama,my girl knew every word to every song!? I remember when MTV showed videos! Every week, they did a battle on which video was best,I rem. when it was Photograph, for like weeks in a row! My older cousin made me recall all the names of DL and M.Crue,oh, the good ol days!

  • I love this song. But I hate when the band plays the acoustic version during the concert, they should be playing the electric version instead!
