Here you can see how the Kinect is used as the sensor for a robotic bin picking application.

The software is developed by PROFACTOR The Kinect's sensor data is used to calculate the position and orientation of the parts in the box, which is then used to calculate a collision free grasping path for the robot, which in turn is executed. All this in just a few seconds :)
