Masunaga's Zen Shiatsu book is my 2 nd "Bible" I have followed all Ohashi's work as well . The Lineage of these two masters is beyond belief ,
I "know" all Masunaga's "choreography in his sequences but to see his transitions and his "robust " work is beyond description. The audience of the vid are rivetted to what he is doing , lucky them to see this master in action !

Thank you again. I have two books of Masunaga-sensei...but see him in accion is wonderful!!!!!!!!!
wud like sum1 2 explain why Masunaga style appears more robust than Ohashi ? , I prefer former as most patients want to feel there is bodywork being done , also curious to know in terms of jitsu /kyo. there is no apparent toning or sedating in this process ? or am i missing something ? sequence is amazing and clever way everything done from one side and is able to work spleen st liver kidney on both legs staying on the same side !, harry .SA harry@bodybasics.co.za

@petriehg1 Ohashi had his own "style" that is for sure. In this video Masunaga Sensei is showing very basic methods not a set routine or "kata". So as for Kyojitsu and Hosha you would of had to maybe train with the man to see his ways of applying sedation and tonification outside of this simple workshop video. As for "robust" bodywork verse "pet the rainbow non-pressure"... a correct therapist takes things case by case in relationship with the patient's condition and constitution.

@yotsumedojo thank you for these comments , are you the uploader of this ? it is rare indeed , I find it fascinating how "light" on his feet sensei is , if you lean with both knees on the LV SI meridian inner leg in side posture your patient will hit the roof! but notice Sensei is on his toes curled in, he is light as a feather and can control the pressure , Is the neck stretch at end of 3/4 vid ok ? that is tantamount to a chiropractic adjustment ?

@petriehg1 Yes these are my video clips which I uploaded to share with the world. As seen in the video with proper posture both knees can be used to apply varying degrees of pressure with control. In traditional Japanese arts such as Anma and later on Shiatsu there are a number of adjustments techniques (Kosei Ho) for realigning all the joints and bones of the body.

These actually gave rise to western Chiropractics. The founder of Chiropractics, David Palmer met with the founder of Shiatsu (Tokujiro Namikoshi) and studied Japanese forms of manipulation. Both Palmer and Namikoshi shared theories together with each other to formulate their arts.
