ive watched randle since he was at pnd.... i watched him get kicked out of a gus macker tournement for dunking when he was 16... but then i watched as he got injured time after time at the u of i.... i watched him squander the talent that could have gotten him drafted... and i watched him cost illinois the title in 04-05. broke his hand early in the season remember? punching a wall? his defense would have made the difference in that game

No Illinois fan is going to claim that UI is as good as UNC all-time. That is ridiculous. However, to act like Illinois is a one-year-wonder program is ridiculous, as well. Illinois has always been a storied basketball program, just never on the scale of UNC. I think if you played that game over again ten times, they would have split. Augustine was out for the last six minutes of the game, so our best post player was not able to defend Sean May, and the game still went down to the wire.
