Oh man. I was 15 in '73 and dated the lovely Ruth King for one week before she just wanted to be friends. I was crushed and played this song so many times that my brother finally broke it. It's still a great song. Thanks for posting.

Was in college and past Viet Nam in 1973. I still play this a lot and still cry about some girls I was foolish enough to lose. One especially. STILL Love her 40 years later, the song says it all!.

If I could just go back to the early evening of New Year's Eve 1972 and fix ONE mistake, I KNOW that all of the heartache I've lived with for so long would never have happened, and my life and that of the amazing girl I walked away from that night would have turned out so differently.
