Diary of an Investigative Project

This workshop was titled Diary of an Investigative Project presented by Gerardo Reyes a writer for El Nuevo Herald a Spanish-language newspaper published in Miami, associated with The Miami Herald.
The workshop focuses on how a story Reyes wrote for the Sunday issue years before eventually became a complete report not only in El Nuevo Herald but also in The Miami Herald. Reyes investigation focused on the first U.S. commercial airplane hijacking, which occurred on November 1, 1958, an incident that was not well reported or given much importance. One of the survivors of the airplane contacted Reyes, because she felt the event had to be documented in order for justice to be done.
