For succumbing so easily to western European musicality ...your ancestors would be horrified .. Then you criticise the Greeks for still playing the tunes with the old instruments , whilst at the same time claiming the newer Bulgarian musical style is the original ...this is not logical ????
-
To bgpobeda Just because you grew up hearing the tunes played i'n this manner does not mean it's the original sound.. Do u imagine that when the Slavs arrived i'n the Balkans i'n the 6th century / they brought with them / accordions / clarinets / guitars etc ....obviously not ....they didn't bring the reed pipe , lyre , oudi or bagpipes either You should be please that the Greeks for the most part still try to use the original instruments ....And be questioning the Bulgarians and Serbs ,

The tendency i'n the 19th century to use more modern instruments such as , accordion , trumpets , clarinet , even the violin is a phenomenon common to all areas of folkmusic i'n all the Balkans ....it's more marked I'm Bulgaria since 1912 and even more so i'n Serbia and Rumania / but the rhythms and tunes unchanged...it happens i'n Greece also but less so so far ...

The Thracian language was replaced by first Greek And 400 yrs also later Latin (vlach) by language shift , but the music and folklore remained ...i'n the 6th century th

I think it's bulgarian, because I have alot of similar melodies from the same style.
You are right, People should not fight but live in peace! Let's enjoy the music and everything else is not Important!

There are thousands of musicologist and ethnologist studies about Greek Thracian music. Google it. Moreover, some of my ancestors have been brought up with exactly this music, they all spoke Greek and many of them fought for Greece against either the Bulgarian komitajis or the Turkish rulers. Today many Greeks dance and sing exactly this music. Anyway, let's just enjoy music from Thrace and leave the past behind. People should be brothers, not enemies.
