Why do people hate this game so? Sure it's linear and definitely not the best in the series, but it's good! Good battle system, good storyline, good graphics. So many hated it but I thought it was enjoyable. I feel that the reason so many hated it is because it was so hyped up and looked to be some godly game. This game could never have lived up to the hype it was receiving, so when it came out, everyone hated it and some call it worse than XII. They failed to realize that this is a GOOD FF GAME

Whenever I go to play Final Fantasy XIII, I rush through the starting screen before the tears start coming out.  The theme song is one of the most beautiful things I have probably ever heard.
