www.simonleachpottery.com semi white glaze recipe :- potash feldspar 3lb 14 oz, whiting 1 lb 14oz,talc 1 lb 2 oz, china clay 2 lb 2 oz,quartz 4 lb - for celadon green add to this 4 oz red iron oxide. This glaze is good for 1300 Centigrade in reducing atmosphere. SL

Thanks Simon! This question is for anyone who can answer it. I'm in the US and cannot find quartz. Standard Ceramic doesn't carry it. Anyone know where I can find it or an acceptable substitute?

Ah, in an earlier recipe that I gave you for Leach White, I said EPK. Well, that is China Clay!!! Same thing.

hi im just a freshmen college student but i remember hearing iron owide turns green in a reduction firing

What cone does this glaze go to and is it better in reduction or oxidation?

what are you firing at? also are you dipping them in red iron oxide before a bisq? and my red iron oxide turns out red haha not green im a little lost.
