Scene from the movie "Keeping The Faith" starring Ben Stiller, Edward Norton and Jenna Elfman. One of Edward Norton's directing and producing efforts. Keeping The Faith is the property of Touchstone Pictures. No copyright infringement is intended.

Jake (Stiller) is a Jewish rabbi who faces pressure from his synagogue and family for not being married yet. Things get complicated when he falls in love with his best friend Anna (Elfman) who isn't Jewish.

One of my favorite scenes in the movie. The two ended up in an argument when Jake's mother found out about their relationship. This is a conversation I wish I had with 'that particular someone'...

Yeah, I was once stuck in a similar situation.

Fave quote:-
Jake: I don't know what to say.
Anna: How about "I've been waiting for someone like you my whole life and I'm not gonna let you go"?

Those words struck me in all the right places...

OK now, sit back and enjoy.

  • Ben Stiller is an ass hole!!!! idiot, homosexual... I hate you

  • Stiller's character is Judas; he is narcisstic and self obsessed- everything revolves around him and how it impacts him. He treats the woman who loves him like crap because she doesn't fit into his ideal life. Meanwhile Norton is kind and works for others sacrificing his love and desires- he was even willing to give up the priesthood for her. He then even forgives betrayal but what does he get? Nothing.

And the traitor Rabbi who had his cake and ate it? Well he carried on stuffing his face.

  • @octomonkey1980 Gee man. I don't know anyone can know that much about an actor. I mean that is not exactly tabloid materials, right?

  • @adihrespati I'm sorry, my bad. Should check my sources before commenting :( Edward Norton RE-EDITED the film, after new line cinema were unhappy with Tony Kaye's version . TK's relationship with EN and NLC went downhill and he later sued (but there's a long story attached to that). EN didn't direct it, that was my mistake. But yes he did a good job directing "keeping the faith".

  • @octomonkey1980 (on Tony Kaye walked out) that i didn't know. Problem on the set?

  • @adihrespati Offically yes. But he actually finished directing American History X after director Tony Kaye walked out. But he didn't get a credit for it.

  • im having the same situation, my gf loves god but i dont and at the same time she likes me a lot and she wants to leave me :S so god is stealing my gf, give me a break :S

  • Ouch, that was painful to watch

  • Aww you skipped the part where she walks back in you says "This is MY apartment, you leave" LOL

  • @PoopieHeadRaver : This is his directorial debut, right? Quite a sparks for a debut, right?
