Willie DeVille never got the recognition he deserved. Cabretta is one of the finest albums ever produced. This album is what I like to call front to back, where every song flows smoothly into the next. What a great story teller and wonderful singer, musician and songwriter. Here's to Willie!

At this point, he still didn't want to perform. Now the club's manager, Jack R I think, joined me in my battle to get a very pissed off Willie onto the stage. For those who were there that night: You saw the man at his finest. He was a truly gifted artist. The next time I saw Willie, he was literally sitting in the gutter, unsigned, out of work and totally lost in his own purple haze. I'm glad to learn that he came back. He was special. He was one of a kind. RIP Willie.

@tommyfuller103 Absolutely agree! Another fan sent me the audio from a Mink DeVille show at The Paradise, broadcast on WBCN in 1978. I created a second tribute video for 'Venus Of Avenue D' with audio from that show and posted it here...
