Part 3 starts back near Lima, with Lomas de Lachay and then Lago Paradiseo. We then have a full day out on a pelagic trip off Lima.
Species filmed at Lomas de Lachay are burrowing owl, least seedsnipe, croaking ground-dove, mountain parakeet, oasis hummingbird, Raimondi's yellow-finch and tawny-throated dotterel. At Lago Paradiseo we have elegant tern, Guy's heroic rescue of an immature guanay cormorant caught in fishing net, Chilean flamingo and snowy plover. On the pelagic trip we have Franklin's gull, grey gull, white-chinned petrel, Sabine's gull, then I think it starts with Wilson's storm-petrel, then black petrel, Markham's petrel and white-vented storm-petrel. Then we have Peruvian pelican, and dusky dolphins with a mix of Peruvian boobies and sooty shearwaters.
The trip was organised by Gunnar Engblom of www.kolibriexpeditions.com based in Lima, Peru.
Hi Keith
Also in this video is South American Tern, just before the Sabine's Tern (well is it a Sabine's? ---it does look very long winged at first, but I can't get any conclusive details on the plumage). I think the first cut of Storm-Petrel is possibly a Wilson (a bit heavier in flight) but then the immediate cut is that of White-vented SP. As for Black and Markham's - I think it may be correct. The two birds fly differently....too bad the cuts are so short.
