DIGITAL SLATE
Tap a field on the slate to edit production info. Choose Directors and DPs from your contacts or saved history, or use the keyboard to enter new info. Use MovieSlate's optimized keypad to quickly enter roll, scene, and take info. Easily switch between multiple productions by loading production info from MovieSlate's history.
TIMECODE
Setting timecode is simple and fast using our specialized keypad. Sync timecode between multiple iOS Devices (iPad/iPhone/iPod touch) via Bluetooth-- or with a song from your iTunes music library (for use in "Music Video" mode).
TIMECODE SYNC PRO MODULE (in-app purchase)
Using this optional module you can send, receive, and jam-sync LTC timecode with supported cameras via the iOS Device headphone jack. You can also sync timecode over WiFi between multiple iOS Devices. MovieSlate on one iDevice can remotely control iPads running MovieSlate.
CLAPPER BOARD
To begin a shot, photograph the production info, then tap the clapper sticks. The clapper opens and closes, creating an audio/visual marker. Optional leader-roll and end-roll credits animations briefly display a full screen image of each production info component.
SHOT MARKER/NOTES, VOICE NOTES, IMAGE NOTES
After starting a shot: you can circle a take; rate audio/video quality; write multiple shot notes; record voice notes; take picture notes; and end the shot. For instance, when shooting interviews you can create notes to timecode mark when a particular question was asked, or when something remarkable was said. Enter notes using the microphone, camera, keyboard— or insert built-in, customizable snippet phrases (such as "Interview", "Question", "Extreme Close Up", or "Handheld").
SHOT LOG HISTORY
Get quick reference to shots you need, without wading through hours of footage. Each shot, all production, GPS location, and timecode data is stored to a Shot Log History, where you can view, edit, or ★-rate shots. From the app, you can search/sort History by: production, roll, scene, or take; and sort by date/time, or ★-rating. History and Notes can be emailed in HTML, CSV, tab-delimited, and FinalCut XML formats.
