F-Zero X Custom Track: The Proverbial Halfpipe Twist

There is a sort of glitch in F-Zero X that if there is a twist in the halfpipe, Double-Tapping on the outside edge of the spin of the halfpipe results in a huge increase in speed, possibly reaching the game's maximum of 3000 kmh. This track is very fast because of it, and I manage to somehow maintain a faster speed than I did in my past videos.

The video was this time recorded by Debut. It has many choices for what the video will eventually end up, but getting the right kind is a pain. It was recorded in 30 fps, audio in 44100 Hz 16-bit Stereo, which resulted in a larger *.wmv file.

can't you just jump to the left part on the first jump, and bypass the half-pipe part entirely?

@SSBMaster11 As seen in the F-Zero Execution Project that was used to make this and the myriad of custom tracks posted here, the game uses checkpoints so none of that skipping stuff happens. If you do decide to skip, the game will force the machine to fall off the track and consequently die.

Not exactly. X and GX have two completely different physics engines, giving them different feels of driving and the glitches that come with them.

The halfpipe twist is when one rapidly hits one of the side-attack buttons at the edge of a twisted halfpipe to gain speed, giving the "boost".

Shiftboosting is when one quickly and laterally moves the machine off and back on the track for <0.5 seconds which gives the "boost".
