We also visited Alla Helgona Kyrka, near to the Castle. Brita Larsdotter´s father Laurentius Andraeae or Erici worked her.One of Brita´s sons was the later Carl Sabelskjöld No 150. The original cruciform church was built during the later part of the 13 th century. Like most medieval churches it was enlarged. The last addition, the choir, was finnished in 1618.
The altarpiece is a work by the sculptor Nicolaus Enander (a Swede) and was given to the church in 1674. The crucifix in the triumphal arch orginates from the medieval church. The Baptismal font is cut from brown limestone from the island of Öland(Sweden) and is from 1655. The Pulpit was bought from Holland in 1626. The Tomstones covers the floor in the choir. Most of them are from after 1665 when it was a fire in the church. A number of coatsof arms hang on the walls. They were made to be carried in funeral procesions and remind us of the time when Sweden was a state of Great Power.
The church-silver is all made in Nyköping. Some of it is made in the 16 th century (not used today) but there are also new ones taken in use in 2005, also local made.
The benches are from 1960.
We were shown the church and could walk a round by ourselves.
There were no service while we were there.
