Lee and his Hearts were one of the best a Capella groups out of the 50's from PHILADELPHIA. There is still so much soul and tenderness left in Lee's voice even at this age that will never be equaled. I saw him perform over twenty years ago at an Oldies Show where he had a female singer and one young male to form his trio. He still brought the house down.

Oh Lee, you and Butch White were still sounding so sweet. Butch Curry, Butch white, Ted, and Roy are all gone but you still can hold your own. Remembering the good times on Woodland Avenue, so many groups singing on the corners and at the recreation center. Mr. Hytower had this dance joint and we use to go there to dance, drink a coke and listen to the records of the day. Boy that was such fun. Nothing like that today!

So great to see the great Lee Andrews with an all male group!
They never made any recording less that great.
Their best releases were Lonely Room, The Fairest, Just Suppose, Bluebird Of Happiness.
I knew Lee's dad for many years who was a singer for The Dixie Hummingbirds, but he never told me that Lee Andrews was his son.

Incredible version, so many years later. Lee Andrews is a great talent and gentleman.

Couldn't wait to grab my favorite girl and dance to his velvet sounding tunes. Met him at the Philly dances in the late 50's and into the 60's. GREATEST voice ever and one classy guy.

Lee was doing a solo performance at the old 19th hole lounge one night on Jenkintown rd. in North Hills, Pa. around 1975, and he and I were bs'in about other groups of the doo wop era. I was toasted, but he was cool as usual. Among the well known groups of the time, I considered him to have the top voice of all leads, but my best friend couldn't believe I said that. I threw in Willie Winfield to appease him, and the disagreement ended. He is a class act all the way.

He seems like a genuinely wonderful person! His soul shows through his face. I love this song!
