This was not a comedy, but it was leavened with humor. It's one of the most perfect films I have ever seen, and yes, it's more of a weepy. But it's incredible. The acting - incredible. Steve Carrell plays "sincerity" as true compassion and kindness. Tommy Lee Jones is spot-on. I think someone should be a candidate for sainthood. In one scene, as she reaches for her difficult, withholding husband in the bed they have not shared for years, her hand trembles slightly. I just adore her.

How ironic! My partner & I have been going through similar issues and we have been together for close to 30 years too. It looks like a really hilarious movie, but when you are going through something like this yourself it doesn't seem to be as funny. We take the good with the bad. That's what LOVE can be like unpredictable but very worthwhile. I agree with rina5054, it isn't about sex cause if it was we would have left each other a long time ago. its just an added bonus, its fun & its healthy,

This movie is another illusion, which Hollywood produce for us. 2 people have married problems, let them start ti have sex and everything will be alright. Not it wouldn't. Sex never solve problems, especially in couples, which are in their 50's. All American movies show us very healthy and fit people in their 50' or 60's. But many people in this age have major health problems and can't have sex. Also relationships between man and women didn't bases on just sex, but on many other things.

This is a good movie. Not so much as a comedy. Its has some very funny parts and dialog but a lot of it was sad and the ending was sweet. Great movie :) (not for children)
