How about you don't need to leave when you're protesting because you have a constitutional right to do so, and the police were not authorized to remove the protestors, just the tents (which were already removed at this point)? How about this protest was organized and authorized by UC Davis faculty and was in no way unlawful?

UC Davis had several documents regarding the use of force.
"It is the policy of this department that officers will use only that amount of force that reasonably appears necessary, given the facts and circumstances perceived by the officer at the time of the event, to effectively bring an incident under control," reads one of their guidelines.
Whether Mr Pike acted reasonably has yet to be determined. (source bbc)
Get the lawyers and investigate civil suits that should get some decisive action.
