Here is the first song in the book "My Gallery". The music was inspired by a painting by the title "Dying Tree by a Stream" by Xiao Yao, in JingAn, a small town in the province of JiangXi, China. Please visit harprose.com
This was recorded in my garden, on my 36 string Thormahlen lever harp. The breeze coming through the trees was just serendipity.
This is my first attempt at recording myself, so please be forgiving! If you are learning this piece, please interpret the music as it pleases you.
"My Gallery" is available through Melody's Traditional Music at folkharp.com
Thank you for listening!

  • This is beautiful. I love the "special effects" you used.

  • @paledeerwoman Thanks, that was all serendipity!

  • very beautiful and beautifully interpreted. What level would you describe this piece. I'm an advance beginner. Would love to play this someday

  • @harprdh Almost all of my pieces sound much harder than they are. I use repetitive ideas (as well as actual repeats) to make them easy to learn and memorize. You could probably play a few songs from this book now. The most difficult part of learning this piece is probably deciphering how to phrase it musically. I am glad you enjoyed my interpretation, and I hope you will bring your own voice to this piece.

  • Beautiful music, and the background is lovely as well - kudos!

  • @RoJeanLoucks Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed it! I am eager for more summery days in my garden.
