These twin peaks tower above North Vancouver. The settlers named them The Lions...a relic of
British Empire namings. I prefer to call them the Two Sisters. The First People who live below them...the Squawmish...have an old story about these two. They represent two daughters of a chief...who when asked by their father what their first wish would be...answered that it would be for Peace between their People...and other
neighbouring groups who had been waging war with each other. Their wish was granted...and since
that time they are honoured as they stand high up in the sky for all to see. I also have a song called
"The Two Sisters"...but taking video...from my front window... of them last week clad in their first winter white...inspired this piece.

  • Lovely landscape and music. Thank-you marakakore for the information and reference to the First People's old story. Also loved seeing the bird that flew by :)

Thanks to cjthemusicman for sharing this with me. :)

  • Thanks for your comment!. The birds...I think there were 3 or 4

of them...were welcome spontaneous extras...enlivening the

other worldly scene. Best wishes on your journey.

  • Interesting piece - sounds like waves gently washing ashore. *****

  • Thanks for your comment!. One aspect of pieces like this

...is that each receiver of it...will bring his or her own unique

filter to what is being heard. Peace.

  • I must add that this piece did bring something different for my ears.. I could hear tiny rocks being sifted.. and at the end large ones. Thanks again. :)
