@jerryoutthere. You have 4 heli's and this is your flying level? WTF, really? Might learn to fly one real good before getting another one, lol.
-
Great vid ,I'm at or close to the same flying level as you ,I love this hobby have 4 heli"s so far ,keep up with the great vid"s
-
Good job man, you took this very seriously!
-
Very clean hovering
Well done
-
it reminds me of my first hover's, nice learining.
try more on the sim and you break less.
keep the heli up that way.
-
it's nice for the first 5 flights and you outgrow that room in 1 day that you need to go outside.

Really good video on CCPM beyond-basics flight. Just noticed that the chopper's flying with constant right cyclic input, is that to compensate for the draft from the tail rotor? I've noticed my CX450SE v2 tends to drift to the right as a result of the tail draft but that should require left cyclic input (not sure if I got my config wrong, still a newbie with CCPM).

@MikeysRC yer Will iv seen your garage lol

Hehehe, nice vid :)
You are doing well, I remember thouse first few steps, keep at it it gets so much better :D
-
nice floor

Looks like someone is ready to take the traing gear off...
-
LOL yeah you are right. But it gets cold in the winter....not heated like YOUR indoor flying area =)!
-
I know the feeling.....May want to wrap everything in foam too =). Your flying progressed very fast. Be safe inside, that 450 can get away from you quick.
-
Yes, I totally agree. I've taken a few safety steps since the first flight given the risks I was taking by flying it indoors (see my comment below).
So now I've found a club 70km (!!) from where I live that rents a gym every Sunday during the winter season. I went there last weekend and it's great for practicing. When the outdoor flying season comes back, I'll fly at our club. Can't wait!!
-
Safety first--you should be practicing hovering outdoors. That should be your number 1 safety rule. You'll end up tearing yourself or your house up otherwise.
-
Oh, and the throttle cut is always ready to be switched on (very important) -- if you listen carefully, you'll notice the RPMs going down before it crashed.
-
It chipped the chair leg and that was it, but indeed it could have been bad.
I took a few safety steps since the first flight given the risks I was taking: always wearing safety glasses, never hovering with the tail pointed at me in case the tail blades come off and also not flying at eye level for the same reason.
My living room is "L" shaped so I was standing at the "foot" of it, kinda sideways to the heli. Safety first, but I really wanted to fly that thing :)
-
Did you break/scratch anything when you crashed? Looked like it could have been bad...
Did you start from this heli or from smaller ones?

@MPU777 I started with the Blade mCX (the tiny yellow one) and that got me hooked and helped with orientation.

welll nice! Only thing: is it possible that the gyro always turns the tail to the right?
but nice hover!
csdragon83 1 year ago
@csdragon83 Thanks :)
Sounds like your gyro/tail is not properly setup, because the gyro should be able to turn the tail to both sides. Do you get full pitch on the tail rotor when pushing left and right?

Nice and smooth! I wish I had an indoor practice area like that =)

Thank you, Mikey!
Now, come on, you've got a garage for indoor flying, I've seen your videos! Don't tell me you actually park your car in there :-)
