Wow, I though the original would be cheesy, but it's just as good as decode. Fans of fluid, yet precise animation will love this. WHile, fans of fast-paced energetic animation will love DECODE.

Wow. I still remember being a 12 year old kid stumbling across this on Primestar (an old satellite TV program bought out by DirecTV) and being shocked by all the violence and fanservice in a "cartoon". I...didn't know what anime was yet. Now it all seems so common to me. Tame even, in light of some stuff I've seen since then.

im glad this is the original...decode is ok but this fight may have bad animation but is better than the decode one! just like the ninties! less talk more smash and action!

I watched the whole 1st season of decode, and I just finished this. Birdy the Mighty is definitely a series I'm adding to my wish list.

Dunno 'bout the rest of you guys, but I like this one a more than the new version. Not saying the newer one is bad, they're both good! At times, however, I get the feeling that the newer one is being pretentious, or it's riding on something already done (besides this.)

Well, looking forward to watching the rest of both series, regardless. Simply awesome.

I wonder what exactly is so bad about his home life? It seems pretty much on the good side of normal to me.

I just finished watching Decode and I can't believe I never heard of or scene this badass anime. And like TAfTfilms I thought this being done back in '96 would be kinda lame but the OVA's are pretty badass. Just want to let everyone know that if you haven't seen Birdy The Might: Decode you have GOT to watch that series on the FUNIMATION channel.

@Amana09 i like the Birdy in decode better. it seems like this one is trying too hard to be a bad ass whereas the decode Birdy is funny, nice and cool as well as being a bad ass she's just a more likable character

This was good. Really enjoyed it. I Still prefer DECODE, bu this was great too. ^^
