BUFFALO, N.Y.
The City of Good Neighbors is once again coming to the rescue after a Grinch tried to steal Christmas from a single mother and her children.
A Grinch may have broken into the home of Eryn Ramirez and stole her car, her computer, and even her children's Christmas presents, but he didn't steal the family's Christmas spirit.
Eryn Ramirez said, "You didn't break us. We'll fix it. You didn't hurt these kids. Their Christmas will be fine. And I'll make sure of it."
After we aired the story Monday night, Christmas angels started appearing.
Good Samaritan Bob Zotara said, "Just the way she handled it inspired me to help her out in this Christmas season."
That perfect stranger, Bob Zotara, has written out a check for the Ramirez family for $500.
Zotara said, "That's what Christmas is all about. It's about giving. And it's about the kids."
News 4's Melissa Holmes said, "I don't know if you knew how much it was for...
Ramirez said, "Oh my goodness."
"It's just a blessing, just a blessing."
In the City of Good Neighbors, even more are coming forward to lend a hand.
"I've got a basket and couple gift cards from Tops for you."
Good Samaritan Mike Quarantello said, "It inspired me that Ms. Ramirez had a great spirit. She wasn't going to let this ruin Christmas for the kids and I really wanted to do anything I could to help."
Also spreading some holiday cheer was Bishop Perry Davis from the Stop The Violence Foundation.
Bishop Davis said, "On behalf of MainStreetHost.Com, I wanted to present you with a check for $250."
"The Stop the Violence Foundation also wanted to give you $250 as well."
Thanks to all that generosity, it will be a merry Christmas for the Ramirez family after all.
Ramirez said, "I keep telling everyone who calls I feel like George Bailey on "It's a Wonderful Life.""
"I'm so thankful. So thankful."
There is some more good news. Buffalo Police called Eryn Ramirez Monday night to say they found her car and the people driving it may have been in the process of committing another burglary. So by reporting it, she may have prevented another family from going through what she went through.
