This is news to me--when did Bob Bogle die?
-
Nokie Edwards, Don Wilson, Bob Bogle and Leon Taylor (his dad Mel was the original drummer).
Telstar is my all time favourite hit by these guys and I've been listening to them since the 60s. 50 years going strong and their music is still tight.
The Ventures: The #1 ALL TIME greatest instrumental guitar band. Hands down. Thousands of acts owe their existence to these guys.
R.I.P. Bob Bogle - a true pioneer.
-
Two 'original' members, the son of one of the 'originals', and on bass a guy who has played with various versions of the group since 1972.*
*[technically there are only two original members of the Ventures - Don Wilson and Bob Bogle, the fouders - but the commonly accepted classic 'original' line-up is Wilson/Bogle/Edwards/Taylor.]

Okay..thanks for the info. I've always loved this song. Somewhere I have a Ventures LP with Telstar. I remember the song having an organ.
