Johnny Noble immersed himself in Hawaiian culture and music when growing up in Honolulu and soon was composing and arranging traditional Hawaiian songs. He worked with Hawaiian natives and was another force that popularized Hawaiian music in America after the trail blazers of Frank Ferrera and Queen Lilioiukalani.
Andy Iona and his inlanders recorded for Columbia throughout the 30s and in 1940 Columbia released album C-19. This album introduced a new generation of Americans to Hawaiian music and would later be the music album of choice in the Americanized phenomena of the Luau.

Reissues commonly issues original songs using modern techniques that dont account of the drastic changes in technical advances made during 1925 to 1940. A record in the 30s This recording would not have played back the same in 1938 as it did in the 1940s and especially would not sound correct on modern equipment. All of these technical issues were not solved until 1954 when the RIAA released a standard Equalization curve for all recording companies and the industry conversion to 33 1/3 RPM vinyl. These fragile discs of Shellac, wax and Earth compounds are of true historic value to the history of sound recording, and I would like to share my small collection of knowledge of 78 RPM records with other 78 RPM aficionados via Youtube.
