Strong stomach needed for this clip from the first episode of the German tv-series 'Liebling-Kreuzberg', first aired in 1986 (I think), about a rather 'alternative' lawyer (Liebling), here dealing with a young delinquent he is to defend and who draws the blood from under his fingernails.
Anyone planning to have children, watch this first and see what you might be up to... :)

Thanks for your comments. I should have guessed it, for Meik sounds a bit too High-German for Plattdeutsch. But I was taken in by all the Dutch sounding words in his speech (keen/geen, wees/weet, wat/wat, koof/koop, ooch/ook) and for which I could find not other explanation. He also sounds like relatives of my mother, all from Groningen, and all Plattdeutsch so the connexion was quickly made. Thanks for putting this right.

  • What accent does this boy have?

    What part of Germany?

  • @OrodesIII

The accent is 'Plattdeutsch', ('Low German'), also known as 'Nedersächsisch' or 'Lower-saxon', spoken in northern Germany and the eastern (border) part of the Netherlands.

  • 1985!

    Ja, ich wees!

  • Weiß irgendwer, wer den Rotzbengel gespielt hat? Ich denk ja sofort an Ben Becker, wenn einer mit Berliner Schnauze ankommt, aber das passt nicht ganz vom Alter, wa?

    Also: Liebling rocks.

  • @OrodesIII this is not Plattdeutsch. The Boy "berlinert" Its from Berlin!

  • @carminum Ach was, Blödsinn!! THIS IS THE BERLINER ACCENT ! " So ne Jeschischtn intressian ma nicht.Dett weeß ick nich mea. Dett ham wa nie jewusst..Da ham se mia ruffjehaun..."

Here in Germany, one names this special Berliner accent the "BERLINER SCHNAUZE" for example: for " I ", they do not say "Ich" ->they use "Icke", for "we" ="wir"-> "wa".

  • @dantestod

Thanks for this information. I notice he pronounced "auch" as "ooch". LOL

  • @OrodesIII ...pure rubbish that this is plattdeutsch or Niedersächsisch

this is pure Berlin accent. It could not be more berlin like this. The show was called Liebling Kreuzberg. And Kreuzber is a district of Berlin

  • @carminum Its "Berlinerisch" (Berlin dialect) not "Plattdeutsch"...

  • I'm just like this boy....im 14 and I smoke plus bad attitude.......

  • @carminum

Many thanks for this information. I did not recognize it from what I heard in Saxony.
