WYXR, also known as Star 104.5 in 1991. This station used the WSNI Sunny 104 and Sunny 104.5 calls a couple of times. Radio Rackett bloggers: this is my favorite Philly radio station TV ad. Thanks for your comments on your blog page. More to come...

I remember it was SUNNY 104, then SUNNY 104 1/2, then STAR 104.5, then back to SUNNY 104.5, then that girl there went and advertised B101.1, then became a rock station ALICE 104.5, then back to SUNNY 104.5, then became a spanish station, and now it's Radio WRFF 104.5 modern rock station.

Whatever..... I have a copy of that article somewhere here. Things sound weird when you take them out of context. lol

Thanks, Gdawg!!! That's an awesome compliment. I'm still around... just not acting anymore. I guess those were my glory days. I'm doing other stuff these days, but still love being creative. Mattie7000 really is my nephew. Cutie. (^_^)

The Inquirer once did an interview with the lady from the Star commercial. At one point, the tone of the article turned creepy and depressing... She was talking about her "new-found fame", and then said something about how she hopes no stalkers try to track her down ...And, I swear the article ended with a quote from her that went something like: "I'm not ready to lose my life yet".

Every Sunday, all day, Star 104.5 FM had what was called "Superstar Sunday", where a different year of music was played each hour (between 1980 and 1992, at that time)...Got me turned on to Fleetwood Mac, Journey, Cliff Richard, Supertramp, Heart....But I do remember that this station played a lot of one hit wonders, even though Star played only "Superstars of the 80's and 90's". Star was unique because you'd hear Mariah Carey followed by Stone Temple Pilots. No other station can do that!
