Well it is official! One model is an overall better model and deal. Which is it? What one do YOU think?

  • ive been up close and personal with these cars for reasons i wont go into. i dont ever recall any chains on the catwalk and, from what i recall, the control device for the frig unit is place accurately on the BLMA. the easy release bar on the frig side is also missing from the exact rail model. hard to believe these basic details are missing yet it cost more. now all we need is someone to make the tropicana joints. too bad you cant just re-decal one of these. great video Al, as usual..hollar

  • @ColeOnly777 Hey man, Thanks!! I put my personal opinion in when I do these videos but I never claim my ways or opinions are right. I just do what i do best, MODEL RAILROADING and sex. LOL i got skills in both!

  • Nice review. How do you like using the JVC Everio to shot vids?

  • I miss the JVC Everio. I sent it to the authorized dealer yesterday. I was about to toss it and head to the Pawn shop where I got it 1 1/2 years ago but figured I may be able to have it fixed. The cost QUOTED is $160.95 If I bought the same or newer version model it would be $260+ I got people all around the town I have to make some SOS calls for a new camera. I need to have two cameras! One as a backup for shit like this happening.

  • @MonsterRailroad I was thinking of getting the JVC Everio but saw the reviews on CNET and it got some harsh criticism. However, I like the quality of your vids especially the HD clips and they might turn out excellent shots when I'm shooting along the rails.

  • @hoorider13 In all fairness man, The video camera takes SHITTY PICTURES and I NEVER use the picture feature. I use my Nikon P100 camera to take all the pictures. but the clarity of the videos is GREAT and I noticed a huge difference immediately after I made a new video with it. I love the camera and you get used to what you had. Others may be better or great but I WANT my same one back.

  • Al,

I have to agree with you. I bought both cars myself, did the same side by side comparison and then E-mailed Craig and gave him my thoughts. For the money, BLMA is the winner. Like I told Craig, if I'm in a hobby shop and his cars are less money than the competition with the same level of detail, then I am going to buy his. The reason - you said it, more bang for the buck. Every dollar saved is another car I can purchase, especially for those guys making unit trains. Great video man. Later.

  • Hello AL check out this website you may find a cool UP locomotive to pull those nices are try amherst-depot com they got atlas dash 8 40Cs in UP with baby wings and tons of hard to find KATOs I saw some UP AC400CWs and UP SD40-2s

  • BLMA vs Exactrail and the winner is.. us the modelers

Personally i like better the Exactrail version, because it has few more details that the BLMA ones and people that are saying that BLMA made a better prototype version of this car ovbiusly haven't seen Exactrail version really close or they just want to ignore the details but belive me, they are there, the pictures on this video proves it. And the price was the same (or at least it was when i bought them Exactrail $24 and BLMA $23.99

  • I bought a few of each brand and love them both. There are details that are different but they are really nice models.

  • I was hoping you or someone would do a side by side comparison of these two. This video even got the attention of BLMA themselves and they even posted your video on thier facebook page. Cool.

  • @merritttrucker i stand corrected they both have it but the EXACTRAIL control module is on the side of the reefer unit not on the corner which is not the proper placement for a Carrier Reefer unit.

  • The EXACTRAIL unit is missing a very key detail that the BLMA unit has, the control module for the reefer unit which is located on the bottom right (when facing the reefer unit) corner.

  • Luv your video, great choice in the end, agreed here! Keep it up!
