In this video a key component (damper) has failed. As the car approaches the top floor oil is sucked into the piston. The failure of this component allows this propeller like spinning action to draw air into the piston as well. The air contaminates as it mixes with the oil. The air turns the golden colored oil a milky color. The air also creates more volume in the tank, reduces viscosity increases oil temperature, resulting in spillage when the car returns to the bottom landing and oil fills the tank. The spilled oil makes it difficult for the car to reach the top floor as it once again draws more air further increasing volume, decreasing viscosity, increasing oil temperature and the cycle repeats over and over until the car shuts down. Old unit installations did not come with shut off timers thus keeping an eye on older hydros is a must. Ensure oil level is at peak and equipment is in running order.
Thank you for your comment.
Excellent ! Low oil can produce the same results. Remember that old saying vinegar and oil don't mix ? Well, regardless of how it enters the system, air does not mix well with oil and the end result spells trouble.
