wow he actually sang the last verse! what a treat for all that attended

i have seen interviews with maynard where he says he stays at the back because he is quite shy (stage fright) & somewhat unco-ordinated, that is to say, he finds it difficult to walk around and sing at the same time (which makes sense if you consider the odd time signatures that Tool frequently use).

He stays with the band instead of being the frontman because its just not him who deserves the main focus. They are all apart of TOOL and deserve equal attention...also the vocals sound behind the music instead of infront which I guess they like to do.

He stays at the back because they have always tried to inject a feeling that the vocals accomplany the music, rather than with most bands where they use the music to accomplany the lyrics.

just got back from a tool concert it was off tha hook i was listening to them play anema and they music was just owning me im sure u know how that feels FYI i pisses off maynard james keenan whaen u film his concerts unless they release a dvd

he's a bit of a recluse and prefers a lack of attention on himself, therefore he prefers stays hidden
