The best musical commercial writing ever done about Jesus.
-
Nobody can match how he sang this version. It's too good to better.
-
This is an overlooked rock record.
-
@StratApple Carl Anderson all the way; he bothered to sing it with soul.

This song is from the ORIGINAL Vinyl-LP´s on the dubble-album... as I got at home also since the early 70:th, bought in that time.. :-))) this is one of the best songs on it and Gethsemane also is one of my favourites.. But to listen on the both Vinyl-LP´s and follow it with the text of the songs as is with in the album is to follow a long story with very good music.Thanx..

Carl does have a better voice, but I like the backround in this version more.

@StratApple yeah your so right mate...murray..great actor and singer...he was brilliant in this... so much emphasis in his voice.. plus he looked fuckin cool,,

I love both Murray's version and Carl's version. Both passionate, personal interpretations of this powerful masterpiece of a song. Murray wins my vote on sheer vocal interpretation and Carl wins for his monster on-screen/stage performance of this song. Both goosebump-enducing masters at the top of their craft!
Murray head is easily the best Judas.. Just listen to his voice he sound so desparate and so interesting. And i very much like that he doesn't use that much vibrato.. i've always felt that overusing it makes you sound very boring..

Best song on the entire album. it encapsulates what the entire story is all about, and it does it in a kick-ass way. It incorporates all of the elements of rock -- piano, guitar, lyric, bass, pathos. It's a mystifyingly beautiful song with a tinge of sadness and trepidation about what is about to happen. Pure genius in the writing and delivery. God, I'm so thankful I was alive along with these incredibly talented people.
