  • That's cool. I've never heard that before. Apparently (someone told me) that you can sometimes here jupiter's sound waves on AM radio. Not sure if that's true or not.

  • @xdunlapx To be honest am not sure about this, but i also read somewhere something similar about this matter. If am not wrong, you should be able to listen to radio noise from space if you turn on your radio on AM, also a tip for this was to go to a place quite far from any cities or small towns.

  • The planet is spinning veeery slowly, or it's just my mad eyes? o.o

  • hehehe is just a little zoom efect that i apply on the picture, however, it really looks like it is spinning really slow :D

  • is this real??

  • yes it is.

  • go to Nasa.gov and they will tell you when you can hear them and what frequency you can hear them on. Earth has to be in the right position in order to pick up the sounds almost like the goldylocks zone.

  • @xdunlapx Yes it is, in fact you can hear it almost all the time. I heard it many times but i was not aware what it is. It is present on SW in parts which are not reserved for radio broadcast and sometimes signal is very strong.

  • birds chirping

  • Does anyone else hear a pattern to the sounds?

  • @hardstreetbambi inside is different :P its a hell full of storms good luck if you try entering in ^^ xD

  • Ah, the mornings of jupiter with birds chirping XD

But in fact these radio waves were collected near jupiter, right?

Where were they received from and when were they broadcasted?

  • @xdunlapx I just listened to it I think, try around 1500 kHz, it's where I get the most interference.

  • @ekty It's true. It used to be more common back when the planet wasn't so saturated with wireless signals. But generally I heard guys hearing it with high quality sets and powered antennas. I myself heard it once. It was kinda cool. Also, during a lightening storm, drive out into the country and position your car with the storm between you and a radio tower, then tune your car radio to that tower's station and you can hear some neat sounds over the radio when lightening strikes.

  • yeah they call jupiter the home of the storm

  • @gthreek

Hahaha.. bit of WD-40 needed alright!
