Just a few of the live steamers I caught fired up today at the Colorado RR Museum We open with an Accucraft climax & a couple of Ruby variants along with an apperance of a "vintage" Roundhouse Aussie style steamer. No fingers were burned here today, only butane & steam oil but serious FUN was had by all !

  • How do you know when to stop and check the water pressure?

  • @wannalayya these have little pressure gauges, but after you run one a few times you can tell when they start to lose the steam

  • What do they do when it rains? Neat!

  • @sgtredbluered the serious ones just Steam on thru the rain

  • love the ruby! but whree did you get the cow catcher and the headlight?

  • Skip, loved the Ruby (I have what is probably the same engine, stock Ruby #11, with RC added). The conventional pilot makes a HUGE difference in appearance! :)

Also got a kick out of the opening scene with the Bachmann Climax - I have the same loco (it's my oldest large-scale loco, still in service on my garden RR), including a Phoenix sound card running thesame sound file! ;) Tom
