To make the fabric stay smooth as you paint, you might try to weight the fabric down with cans of vegetables or whatever you have on hand. Also when using the fabric crayons, mine say to warm the tip either with hot water or microwave for a few seconds. I love that you are branching out, dear friend. I hope I can add inspiration to you and suggest fabric paint pens. They work like a brush and are so much fun to use. Thank you. Theresa

I wonder if you heated them with some steam or a few seconds in the microwave if that would make them easier to use? Maybe even be able to use a brush to apply it to the fabric? hmmmmmm
