@oneirishpoet I think it's perfectly OK for the police to use pain to coerce people who have trespassed, chained themselves to make norma removal impossible, and refused repeated lawful orders to leave. As I said below, if you're not willing to endure the consequences of direct action, which may include extreme pain, you have no business participating in it.
On a side note, I've been employed since September, not relevant but you did bring it up.

@Marbles471 There's nothing wrong with non-violent direct action as long as the participants accept that the police will to force to try to stop them and that will often cause massive pain. People who aren't ready to endure this pain have no business conducting these kind of protests. Ghandi himself said his tactics took more courage than violence and nothing sickens me more than spoiled children like that pretending they're Ghandi and then crying foul when they get 10% of the pain he endured.

"officers are no longer allowed to use pepper spray as a torture device on non-violent activists."
Yeah they won $1 each. But officers are obviously using these torture technologies with the Occupy movement everywhere: "Attorney Bob Bloom: 'it’s real hard to get..eight jurors, to say that the police did the wrong thing..' He is satisfied,'This is a jury saying that this is excessive force. ... it’s not just Humboldt county (that) can’t do this. They can’t do this anywhere in the country.'”

This is even sicker than the Davis pepper-spraying.

Yet...the media will say its always the protestors fault for inducing it........

The US has been an outright police state for well over a decade now. It just keeps getting worse. Which is why I refuse to travel there. Ever.
