@MrArihant1987 The only thing original from 1972 design is the engines and propellers. Every mission system, and avionics system has been upgraded over the years! Lockheed is more than willing to put modern engines and propellers installed for any operator willing to pay.

P3 orion is a 40 yr old technology. Its is being phased out of US navy and being replacedby Latest Boing P8 poseidon , and glad to inform u that Indian navy is the first foreign navywhich will be equipped with 12 Boieng P8 poseidon Anti submarine warfares planes.

Americans are dumping Lockheed P-3 Orion for latest Boeing P-8 Poseidon. Boeing is now selling P-8 Poseidon only to American Navy and Indian navy. Indian Navy is buying 12 of them. Pakistan already lost 2 P-3 Orion in PNS Mehran attack now remaining with two of them.
