"Americans know Europe better than Europeans know America"...this is the most laughable statement I've ever read! How can America know Europe better if Europe has existed a long time before America was founded?>
@Lanparth Bleh, go sew another patch on your backpack. While your at it you can boast about your health care and chide your neighbors to the south for owning guns. We care, believe me. We really, really, really care.
Friedman is same kind as Bush? What an impossible idiotic statement.
Friedman is a GENIUS. He's a DOCTOR. He's an EXPERT on these matters. People listen to what he has to say because what he says is very smart and educated.
I think all he means is that if you compare the U.S.A. of 2009 to (for example) the U.K. of 1945, it is still a major power in its infancy. Whereas at the time of (again, for example) the Second World War Russia, France, Britain had a long history of military dominance. This war was the one where the U.S.A. established its pre-domiance and therefore, whilst being the main power of the world, has less history as a great power when put in comparison to these countries.
Many things you can say about America can be said about most any other country. This idea of the US being an adolescent is laughable. So Germany, Britain, France, Italy, Russia, and Japan are more mature? Hahahaha!
The US has its flaws but it has kicked the butt of most these countries for their own imperialistic ambitions.
@on91
Do you think NATO is an actual alliance or is it a way to keep Russia out of Europe and America in? lol
