  • Nice bike and good sound ! As stated it is not completely original but then again which Harley truly is ? I have a complete original one which I'm restaurating at the moment. But want to replace the primary drive with a belt. But so that the original cover still fits. So you won't see it but it's not original anymore. And maybe at the tailbumper light !

  • When I bought the bike, it was mostly original, that is what I liked about it. The bike needed a lot of work, if I found some of the correct covers I might use them. The dash was probably kept by the original owner. The first owners name was engraved on it. I gave it a more efficient, air cleaner, electronic ignition, sealed the primary and changed it from a dry clutch to a wet clutch that has its own separate oil. Original is nice. I bought the bike not just to look at but to enjoy the ride.

  • I have the oppertunity to purchase one of these bikes almost all original. Any idea of the value in good to excellent condition?

  • Hey Martinus - I have a dry primary on mine. It uses the original primary, but for belt longevity, you really need to allow air in the primary area. I use ventilated derby and inspection covers. Kind of a dead give away. Without the air circ, the belt gets too hot. The early Sturgis models suffered from the same thing.

Best of luck to you and Mikesgift - good to see these old things well taken care of.

  • Nice, but some parts aren't quite correct. That model shouldn't have a kicker, should have the ham can aircleaner, should also have the special engraved dash and special point and derby covers, etc. Not being picky, just that I know those bikes very well, as I've hunted for parts for many years.

  • Very nice bike!!!!!!!!!
