Maybe you can help me with a question.There was a clip from "Million Dollar Legs" (where Donald also played a jockey), and the footage of a race looked identical to the footage of the SYS one.When I made this observation I got yelled at by the channel owner.But having seen this movie several times now, I am certain the actual race footage is the same.Do you know if the studio reused the footage in another movie later? I just want a little vindication after being yelled at for an opinion.

@DonaldOConnorFan Oh dear, bless his heart - he WAS a trooper! It makes sense - most of the shots with him on the horse, there's someone else nearby, just as added insurance for his safety. Of course they wouldn't have a child his age doing the actual racing sequences, whether he had riding experience or not. He sure handled it professionally though.
Oh, and I love the way he takes Bing's hand at 5:00. Did I mention how precious he is? I'm sure I did.

OK, beating up a child is despicable enough, but when that child is a little Donald O'Connor... there's gonna be a special place in hell for those fiends. >:(
Could he be any more adorable? I wonder how much riding he actually did for this - I'm sure they had a stunt jockey, and the closeups during the race were probably on one of the mechanical horses.
I love the chemistry with Bing - how great that they reteamed later on in Anything Goes. I bet Bing loved working with grown up Donald too. :3

@JenniLeigh81 No, I don't think he could be any more adorable even if he tried.
Among all of the things they needed Donald to do for this film, riding was the only one he could not do, but being the trooper that he was he immediately said he would learn, although later he admitted to being terrified of that horse.
