Raw Video: Helicopter Falls Apart During Landing

A rescue helicopter disintegrated shortly after landing in the northern state of Para, Brazil on Wednesday. Amateur images taken by the Para Fire Department showed how the aircraft came apart while vigorously vibrating. (Feb. 23)

It is a solid Helicopter, the pilot failed to recognize as possum440 eluded to, a condition called ground resonance. If he would have lifted off a few feet and allowed the blades to synchronize this catastrophic event most likely would not have occurred. Live and learn.

Yeap, it's just plain old ground resonance, which only affects fully articulated rotor heads.

never adjust your cyclic friction too loose. He could just let go of the cyclic and it will stabilise by it self. He thought he can control it with the cyclic.
