Op Silkman, 42 Commando group in Sierra Leone in 2000. The Amphibious Ready Group mounted a Firepower Demonstration at a camp where Local soldiers were being trained by a British Army Training Team. It involved every weapon system embarked on HMS Ocean from snipers to 105mm artillery.

Didn't play a part in Op Silkman unfortunately but did do a tour of SL onboard GLASGOW from Jan 01. These images of Freetown brought back some memories. Paddy's Bar, Aberdeen and No 2 beach. Great days.
