1934 diesel engine from tugboat Arthur Foss, 6 cyl, 700 hp @ 200 rpm. 18 X 24 bore/stroke. Idling at about 70 rpm

  • 700 @ 200 ( two hundred ) rpm. See the notes for more info.

  • BTW it takes over 18,300 lb/ft of torque to generate 700 horsepower at 200 rpm! That is about the same as a 3200 hp eninge turning at a more modern 900 rpm or so. These old engines are in fact very powerful!

  • torque is something else as horsepower,jou can reduce rpm with gearbox to multyply torque, but youre right, therse no sustitute for qubic inche's!(LOL)
