Maggie Harris, Boca Raton, FL, co-founder of a nonprofit organization called "Catitude," received the 2010 Real Heroes Animal Rescue Award from the Greater Palm Beach Area Chapter of the American Red Cross. Harris has helped Catitude spay and neuter over 1,384 cats in the past six years, including 600 cats in 2009. In addition to keeping the local cat population down, Harris rescues injured or stray cats throughout the year. Harris exemplifies a can-do attitude, never turning a cat in need away. Through word of mouth, Harris and the rest of the Catitude bunch are making a difference in the lives of four legged friends each day. Harris was honored at a luncheon presented at the Kravis Center by the Red Cross and WPBF 25 News, the ABC affiliate in West Palm Beach.
