Previously protected Wildlife Habitat Areas in the Chilliwack River Valley Spotted Owl forest are now slated to be logged over by Tamihi Logging. Spotted Owl is on the brink of extinction in BC due to habitat destruction primarily caused by over logging. Under their watch, the Province of BC / Premier Kristy Clark and previous Environment minister and local MLA Barry Penner, are allowing old growth habitat ideal for Spotted Owl, to now be logged. BC government has a very poor record at protecting species at risk.
