http://cmestudio.wordpress.com/ I created this video so that I could learn some of the special effects features of After Effects and Premiere Pro, two of the software programmes in the newly set-up LamWoo Studio (at SKH Lam Woo Memorial Secondary School).

The footage is our school's sports day, which was held on 16-17 October 2008. I would like to thank the athletes and camera operators. Without your effort, this video would not have been possible.

The video was produced by Stephen Richards http://longzijun.wordpress.com/

Sony Vega was used for the old film effect & Photoshop was used to adapt some of the images. The explosions and fire videos are from www.detonationfilms.com

The music was composed and recorded using Sonar Home Studio. The first song is mainly a loop-based composition (with loops from Sound Pool, Music Tech and CM) with some parts added via keyboard (Korg MicroX). The second song was mainly recorded using the keyboard along with some percussion/drum loops.

Produced by CMe Creative Media Studio http://cmestudio.wordpress.com/

  • awesome... how is the effect in 0:10 called? the moment, when one sees different situations of the athlete. Can you tell me how to do such an effect?

    thanks

  • @GeneratorKiter That was the most difficult effect to produce. It was created in AfterEffects and makes use of a lot of masks and a lot of layers of the same video that are shifted slighty over time. It is a variation of the "smallville fast run effect". You can see a tutorial by YouTube user HDfreak of how to do this effect. I was learning from this tutorial and just added something different - freeze frame (to stop the runner in place) and a fade.

  • can you draw things on the screen? like someone throwing a power like in dragon ball z, I would love to make an effect like that!

  • Yeah, you can see Alex Damon's tutorial on how to do a Dragonball kamehameha energy blast. Search for 'kamahameha tutorial' or the youtube username 'damonstration'.
