Hi!
I wanted to do a camera experiment with recording transmitter while flying. I did not have a suitable object at home to provide support for keyholder camera, so I pick up a 9 dB WLAN antenna that was available and taped it onto the radio in deeply professional manner. You can see how well it is taped, rock solid support.
I had another keyholder camera, it was velcro taped onto Lama canopy. And one point and shoot camera was sitting on my hat cam.
Unfortunately the WLAN antenna was far from beind ideal, I could not tweak the image, so only part of the transmitter is recorded. I think I shall try this with a rules next time, easier to aim the camera.
I tried to make some circles in the living room. You may notice the chicken carpet, it is priceless... :-)
Once Lama was only a hairpin away from disaster. Its own turbulence sucked the mighty bird onto the window, I had to apply full back cyclic and it hardly moved away from the window. Very exciting moments.
I was landing next to Frank Herbert: Dune sci-fi book. In my humble opinion one of the best great science-fiction books. Along with Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke books of course.
Next time I try to record CopterX transmitter...
Hi!
I think that a plastic ruler would give better result. The WLAN antenna was not long enough hence the limited viewing angle on transmitter. As the ruler is flat it is easier to have the small camera aimed well. I will fetch a ruler and try with CopterX.
