@idaman12345 It is not a question of "not" promoting it. The reason the government provides certain benefits to those who are married is to promote the specific relationship between MEN and WOMEN. Marriage, as it is defined, between a man and a woman serves a compelling state interest. Homosexual relationships provide NO benefits to the state. Homosexuals have shorter lifespans, produce no children, and have a significantly greater risk of physical, drugs, and alcohol abuse.

@idaman12345 You are equal. You have equal access to marriage as it is currently defined by law. You have no right to redefine marriage according to sexual preference. There is no benefit to society as a whole to promote gay relationships with the benefits of marriage.
